Authentic History
Family owned & operated since 1869
Hickory Hill Farm was founded in 1869 by Augustus and Eliza Miller, who established the farm as a place of purpose and permanence, laying the foundation for what would become a longstanding family legacy. After a fire destroyed the original homestead, the original 250-acre “Century Farm” was rebuilt in the early 1900s by one of their sons, Lorenzo Miller, and his wife, Barbara (Momma Miller). For the next four decades, they and their six children managed the farm and worked the land, maintaining a quiet, rural life and ensuring the farm’s continued vibrance. Over the years, the farm supported a wide range of agricultural uses, including tobacco, crops, cattle, and dairy, becoming a vital part of the local Tennessee community. It also housed a legendary moonshine still during Prohibition. Many of the hand-hewn barns, weathered cabins, and original farm structures still stand — markers of life lived close to the land and over a century of Tennessee history. Passed down through six generations, Hickory Hill Farm has long been a place of family connection, hard work, and quiet endurance — a legacy that we’re proud to carry forward and continues to shape everything we do here today.

Thoughtfully Restored
Balancing History with Modern Comforts
Beginning in 2014, Hickory Hill Farm has undergone a purposeful transformation. Once just the original 250-acre farm, the property has expanded to roughly 800 acres, still owned and operated by the Miller family, and has been thoughtfully renovated by the fifth and sixth generations. Many of the property's original structures — tobacco barns, silos, crop sheds, and cattle barns — have been carefully restored to preserve the history and character that defines Hickory Hill Farm. Alongside these historic elements, we’ve added refined touches designed for comfort and connection: updated farmhouses, porches and verandas, stone firepits, and a large barn for events and gatherings. All of this is set against hundreds of acres of rolling hills and open pastures, where livestock graze and trails and streams run throughout. The result is a balance of rustic authenticity and modern hospitality that is deeply grounded and connected to the land — a place that feels timeless, yet built for today.
